Meet the Veterinarians of Rum River Veterinary Clinic

Mark S. Guck, DVM

Dr. Mark S. GuckDr. Mark S. Guck and Karri Anderson Guck started Rum River Veterinary Clinic on May 6, 1989. The first building site was at 1903 S. Ferry Street in a rezoned house. After outgrowing the facility, they moved to 100 W. Main Street in 1994.

Dr. Guck grew up in Nowthen and graduated from Elk River High School. He then went to the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He practiced in south Minneapolis for five years before starting Rum River Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Guck has a special interest in geriatrics, internal medicine and acupuncture.

Dr. Guck has one daughter, one son, and one dog, Sophie. In his spare time, Dr. Guck likes gardening and bird watching. His all-time favorite activity is playing in the yard with Sophie.

Heidi Kuebelbeck, DVM

Heidi Kuebelbeck, DVMDr. Heidi Kuebelbeck graduated from University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2010. Growing up on a small hobby farm gave her the love of working with and caring for animals. Heidi started working in a veterinary clinic at age 15 cleaning kennels and assisting staff. In 2014 she joined the team at Rum River Vet.

Heidi has two beautiful kids, Aiden and Genevieve. In addition to her two legged kids, she has a 3-legged chocolate lab named Lily, a 3-legged black lab named Louie, another crazy lab named Echo, and the cats: Marley, Stanley, Theodore, Angel and Roger. She also has a corn snake and a flock of chickens and ducks. When she isn't busy with work, kids, or animals, she enjoys knitting and baking.

Heather Allen, DVM

Heather Allen, DVMDr. Allen joined Rum River Vet in September 2018. She grew up in Chaska, MN and attended the University of Minnesota where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. She is a 2017 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Allen has special interests in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and diagnostic ultrasound, but strives to practice the highest quality of care for all her patients.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time traveling, playing soccer, and watching football and hockey with her boyfriend. She has an Alaskan Husky named Skyy, a Labrador named Bella, a cat named Stormie, and 11 chickens. Dr. Allen is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, and hiking. She is also very passionate about archery and enjoys shooting at 3D archery events.

Brittney Brock, DVM

Brittney Brock, DVMDr. Brittney Brock joined Rum River in January 2019. She is a Minnesota native originally from Inver Grove Heights. Brittney grew up loving and caring for animals and developed a special interest in biology and anatomy, which ultimately led to her passion for veterinary medicine. She is a 2010 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine.

Brittney shares her home with with her husband Lucas, a Wire Haired Pointing Griffon named Finn, two Labrador Retrievers named Charlotte and Sawyer, and three cats named Athena, Oliver, and Charlie. Outside the workplace, Dr. Brock loves to spend time outdoors fishing, boating, horseback riding, gardening and walking her dogs.

Dr. Brock is passionate about giving back to the veterinary community and is the past president of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Foundation. She currently serves on many boards and volunteers her time for the MVMF. Dr. Brock was also the recipient of the 2017 Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association emerging leader award, which is given to a young veterinarian that has demonstrated achievement and leadership through veterinary community involvement.
