Meet the Veterinarians of Rum River Veterinary Clinic

Mark S. Guck, DVM

Dr. Mark S. GuckDr. Mark S. Guck and Karri Anderson Guck started Rum River Veterinary Clinic on May 6, 1989. The first building site was at 1903 S. Ferry Street in a rezoned house. After outgrowing the facility, they moved to 100 W. Main Street in 1994.

Dr. Guck grew up in Nowthen and graduated from Elk River High School. He then went to the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He practiced in south Minneapolis for five years before starting Rum River Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Guck has a special interest in geriatrics, internal medicine and acupuncture.

Dr. Guck has one daughter, one son, two cats, and one dog, Sophie. In his spare time, Dr. Guck likes gardening and bird watching. His all-time favorite activity is playing in the yard with his dog, Sophie.

Catherine Angle, DVM

Catherine Angle, DVMDr. Catherine Angle grew up in Coon Rapids, MN. She attended Hamline University in Saint Paul where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2002. She went to the University of Minnesota and completed a Master's in Public Health and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Angle went on to complete an internship in small animal practice at Animal Medical Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina and worked at an internal medicine specialty practice the following year.

She splits her time between Rum River Veterinary Clinic and Pet Poison Helpline where she provides pet owners and veterinarians emergency assistance with toxicology cases. Her interests include internal medicine, toxicology and dermatology.

Dr. Angle lives with her husband, two daughters, dog and cat in Brooklyn Park. In her spare time she loves to read, garden, and homebrew.

Heidi Kuebelbeck, DVM

Heidi Kuebelbeck, DVMDr. Heidi Kuebelbeck graduated from University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2010. Growing up on a small hobby farm gave her the love of working with and caring for animals. Heidi started working in a veterinary clinic at age 15 cleaning kennels and assisting staff. In 2014 she joined the team at Rum River Vet.

Heidi has two beautiful kids, Aiden and Genevieve. In addition to her two legged kids, she has a 3-legged chocolate lab named Lily, a 3-legged black lab named Louie, another crazy lab named Echo, and the cats: Marley, Stanley, Theodore, Angel and Roger. She also has a corn snake and a flock of chickens and ducks. When she isn't busy with work, kids, or animals, she enjoys knitting and baking.

Sandra Lester, DVM

Sandra Lester, DVMOriginally from California, Dr. Lester received her BS in animal science from UC Davis. In 2008 She moved to Saint Paul pursue her Doctorate at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine where she studied both Large and Small animal medicine. While Dr. Lester doesn't treat very many cows, horses, or pigs these days, she enjoys the occasional backyard chicken patient and has a passion for small animal dentistry.

Dr. Lester currently resides in NE Minneapolis with her hubby Kai (also a veterinarian) where they share their home with Bob- a cat with cerebral palsy, a mostly-normal cat named Melvin, a flock of backyard chickens, and their new puppy Ellie. Each Saturday of the State fair you can find these two where they met- volunteering at the MVMA Surgery Suite demonstrating Spay and Neuter surgeries for the public. Dr. Lester has a passion for all things spicy and in her spare time enjoys gardening and bottling her own Sand-ra-cha (sriracha) pepper sauce- Just call her Dr. Pepper.
